This is very interesting. It almost seems like the painted flowers & garden on the wall are a continuation of the living tree, as if the tree is a part of this garden. This is true in a way, the tree shares its place with the painted garden in the empire of the images and of this image in particular. A “hybrid” between ‘nature’ & ‘representation of nature’. Actually this photo is a representation by itself, but denoting itself as such. I like it very much. Should I venture saying that this is the entrance to Eden?
I have to add that this is a recurring instance or theme in your work, there is always a certain way things from different sectors of the “real world” share a common one in your photographs, not only as parts of the same image, but also as if one is growing into and from the other; the reflections are such a part. Sometimes, the ‘real’ world objects are a kind of entrance into some other world, the one of the reflection or the painting or just the world of its odd representation, and your use of vignetting emphasizes on this; more than just a border, it is also an entrance into an unknown realm and an indicator of some continuation that the eye is not able to grasp.
i have always wanted to go to la, cause, (most) all “famous” people lived there. and, not only that but, it is so…....... pretty! it would be a dream come true to go there.
Man, that’s sweet. Looks like a set, or a miniature, or a painting…
